Mon 21st PBBA meeting with Prof. Jim Eldridge of UTPB on Exercise Physiology as it applies to Cycling and Cyclists.

Sat 26th Run from the Cops, Midland, TX, 5K/1K Run Walk

Continuing Events:

 

Saturday, Monday, Wednesday 8:30am Bike from Wilson's Corner, Odessa to Crane 20 miles on a smooth road, stop for refreshments at a family restaurant, and then return for another 20 miles.

 

Tuesday, Thursday 6:00pm.  Bike from the Professional Center Parking Lot located in Odessa at the intersection of 191 (42nd Street) and the Loop (338).

 

Sunday 2pm PBBA Bike from the radio station north of the Midland Odessa Airport.  Contact Kelly Brammer or Jeff Brammer at 682-2617 for information on these no drop rides.

Sat 2nd Midland Triathlon at COM put on by Midland YMCA.  Sprint:  500 yd pool, bike 22K(13.4 miles),  and run 5K(3.1mi)

Sun 3rd Prude Ranch, Fort Davis, TX, 5K, 10K, ½ Marathon runs, Duathlon/Duathlon Relay

?Sat. 11 Tumbleweed Classic, Quitaque and Caprock Canyons State Park in the Panhandle of Texas. Bike rides of approximately 28, 56, and 104 miles will be available with SAG and rest stops. The scenery is great, the rides are challenging and the tour is two weeks before the Hotter N Hell Hundred, so this will be a great training ride prior to the HHH.

Sun 10th Wool Capital Triathlon, San Angelo, TX. 1500 meter open water swim (no wetsuits), mostly flat and fast 40 km bike and 10 km run on the infamous "Dirt Road from Hell". Great beginner event. USAT. Oldest Triathlon in Texas, Oldest Olympic Distance event in all of Southwest. 6 time Regional Championship, 5 time State Championship, selected best race in South Midwest 4 times and one of top 50 triathlons in North America as rated by Triathlete Magazine.

Thurs-Sun 21-24th Hotter'N Hell Hundred, Wichita Falls, TX, a huge cycling event with  11205 riders for 2007.  August 23rd 10K - 25 mile - 50 mile - 100K  - 100 mile race/tour, Off-Road bicycle race, off road trail run

Sat 23rd Bottomless Lakes State Park F-1 Triathlon, Roswell, NM, 800m swim, 14K bike, 4K run, 14K bike, 4K run

Sun 24th Rockwall Sprint Triathlon, Rockwall, TX, 300YS/14MB/2.9MR, USAT

 A triathlon is an athletic event consisting of swimming, cycling and running over various distances.  A sprint triathlon is the fastest growing triathlon race distance. A 750 m or 500 m or 1/2 mile swim is follwed by a 12.4 mile bike and 3.1 mile run.  A full or Ironman triathlon is a 2.4 mile swim , a 112 mile bike ride, and a 26.2 mile marathon run.  A half or Ironman 70.3 or medium distance consists of a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike ride, and 13.1 mile run.  An Olympic distance triathlon is a .93 mile swim, 24.8 mile bike ride, and 6.2 mile run.
